Lesson 6 - Chord Change Tricks
(Back to home / Back to contents)

Changing Chords Quickly

In order to keep up the tempo in a fast song, you need to be able to change chords with some degree of speed. But let's face it - it gets pretty difficult to switch between some chords when playing. Sometimes nothing can be done about that, but other times there are shortcuts, and I will discuss some of the more common chord change shortcuts that many guitarists use. (Often without thinking about it.)

I teach these chord change techniques to all my students, and I assure them that if they practice these "shortcuts" it will one day just "click" and they'll find themselves making these chord changes quickly without even thinking about it.

Note: These may take some getting used to - but it's well worth the effort.
