Lesson 7 - The Big, Bad Barre Chords

Unlike the "E-Form" barre chords and "A-Form" barre chords, "G-Form" barre chords are not used as often. That being said, all "G-Form" barre chords do is move the G Major chord up the neck and create a new 1st position by laying your index fingers across all six strings.
Once again, the chords are almost identical - take the G chord and slide it up the neck one fret, then lay your index finger across all six strings at the 1st fret and you have a Ab. One more fret makes A, then one more makes Bb.
Often these "G-Form" barre chords can be difficult to fret properly, depending on the position on the neck where you're playing, so I cheat and only play the bottom five notes of the chord. This allows me to still play the chord, and yet I can fret the chord easier.
